Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which East Yorkshire Decking provides its services to customers. By accepting a quotation or instructing us to carry out work, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Quotations

All quotations provided by East Yorkshire Decking are based on the information available to us at the time of quotation.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Quotations are valid for the period specified on the quotation.
  • Prices are based on the agreed specification and requirements.
  • Any additional work, materials or changes requested after acceptance may result in additional charges.
  • Where unforeseen circumstances are discovered during the work, we will discuss these with you before carrying out significant additional work wherever reasonably possible.
  • A quotation does not constitute a binding contract until it has been accepted by the customer and a start date or installation arrangements have been agreed.

2. Acceptance of Work

Acceptance of a quotation, whether in writing, electronically or verbally, confirms that you agree to the quoted specification and these Terms and Conditions.

Any changes to the agreed specification should be discussed and agreed with East Yorkshire Decking before the work is carried out.

3. Deposits & Payments

Where a deposit is required, the amount and payment terms will be stated on the quotation or invoice.

Deposits are used to secure materials, labour and scheduling for the agreed project.

The remaining balance is payable in accordance with the payment terms stated on the quotation or invoice.

East Yorkshire Decking reserves the right to suspend or delay work where payments are overdue.

4. Changes to the Project

Customers may request changes to the agreed design or specification. Any changes may affect the overall cost and completion time.

Additional work will only be carried out where reasonably possible and may be subject to an additional charge.

Where a customer requests changes after materials have been ordered or work has commenced, East Yorkshire Decking may charge for materials, labour or other costs already incurred.

5. Site Access & Preparation

The customer is responsible for providing reasonable and safe access to the property, caravan pitch or work area.

The customer should ensure that the working area is accessible and reasonably clear before work begins.

Where access is restricted, unsuitable or different from the conditions described when the quotation was prepared, additional costs may apply.

The customer is responsible for informing East Yorkshire Decking of any known underground services, cables, pipes, drainage systems or other hazards that may affect the work.

6. Static Caravan Siting & Levelling

Where East Yorkshire Decking is contracted to carry out static caravan siting, positioning or precision levelling, the service will be carried out based on the condition and suitability of the caravan pitch at the time of installation.

Customers must inform us of any known issues relating to the pitch, ground conditions, drainage, access or existing services.

Additional ground preparation or remedial work that was not included in the original quotation may incur additional charges.

East Yorkshire Decking will take reasonable care when positioning and levelling caravans but cannot be held responsible for pre-existing structural, mechanical or manufacturer-related defects.

7. Decking, Fencing, Gates, Trellising & Paving

All installations will be carried out in accordance with the agreed specification.

Natural variations in materials, including differences in colour, texture, grain, finish or appearance, are not necessarily considered defects.

Where customers select colours or materials based on samples, photographs or previous installations, there may be minor variations between the sample and the finished product.

The customer is responsible for approving the design, layout, materials and colours before installation.

8. Ground Conditions

Installation work may be affected by ground conditions, weather, drainage, access or other site-specific circumstances.

Where unsuitable ground conditions or previously unknown issues are discovered, East Yorkshire Decking will discuss the available options with the customer.

Additional work required as a result of unforeseen ground conditions may be charged separately.

9. Weather & Delays

Some outdoor installation work is weather dependent.

Adverse weather, unsafe working conditions, material shortages, supplier delays or circumstances outside our reasonable control may result in the postponement of work.

Where this occurs, we will endeavour to rearrange the work at the earliest reasonable opportunity.

Such delays will not normally constitute a breach of contract where they arise from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

10. Materials

East Yorkshire Decking will use the materials specified in the quotation wherever reasonably available.

If a specified product becomes unavailable or discontinued, we may offer a suitable alternative of comparable quality, subject to agreement with the customer.

Customers will be informed where a significant change to the agreed materials is required.

11. Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

  • Provide accurate information about the project and site.
  • Provide suitable access to the work area.
  • Obtain any permissions or approvals that are the customer’s responsibility.
  • Inform us of known underground services or site hazards.
  • Ensure that children, pets and other individuals are kept safely away from the working area.
  • Make payments in accordance with the agreed payment terms.

12. Existing Structures & Installations

East Yorkshire Decking cannot accept responsibility for defects or damage relating to existing structures, decking, fencing, paving, caravans, foundations, utilities or other installations that were not installed by us.

Where existing structures are to be incorporated into a new installation, we will take reasonable care, but their condition and suitability may affect the finished result.

13. Workmanship & Guarantees

East Yorkshire Decking aims to provide a high standard of workmanship on every project.

Any specific guarantee or warranty provided for materials or workmanship will be detailed separately on the quotation, invoice or relevant documentation.

Manufacturer warranties may apply to certain products and are subject to the manufacturer’s own terms and conditions.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects the customer’s statutory rights.

14. Defects & Complaints

If you believe there is a problem with the workmanship or materials supplied, please contact East Yorkshire Decking as soon as reasonably possible.

We will assess the issue and, where appropriate, arrange for reasonable remedial work.

Customers should not arrange for another contractor to carry out remedial work relating to an alleged defect without first giving East Yorkshire Decking a reasonable opportunity to inspect and address the issue.

15. Cancellation

Where a customer wishes to cancel or postpone an agreed project, they should contact East Yorkshire Decking as soon as possible.

Cancellation may result in charges where materials have already been ordered, work has commenced or other costs have been incurred.

Where consumer cancellation rights apply, these will be handled in accordance with applicable UK consumer legislation.

16. Images & Photography

East Yorkshire Decking may, with the customer’s permission, take photographs of completed work for use on our website, social media, advertising and marketing materials.

No personal information will be published alongside photographs without the customer’s consent.

Customers may request that photographs of their property are not used for marketing purposes.

17. Limitation of Liability

East Yorkshire Decking will take reasonable care when carrying out its services.

We will not be responsible for loss or damage caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, pre-existing defects, inaccurate information supplied by the customer, unsuitable existing structures or conditions that could not reasonably have been identified before work commenced.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for a customer’s statutory consumer rights.

18. New & Used Caravans

Where East Yorkshire Decking sells new or used caravans, the terms applicable to the sale will be confirmed separately.

Used caravans may show normal signs of previous use, age and wear. Customers are encouraged to inspect a used caravan thoroughly before purchase and raise any questions or concerns before completing the purchase.

Any specific warranty or guarantee offered with a caravan will be confirmed separately.

19. Intellectual Property

Any designs, drawings, photographs, written content or other materials produced by East Yorkshire Decking remain the property of East Yorkshire Decking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Such materials must not be reproduced or used commercially without prior permission.

20. Privacy

East Yorkshire Decking will handle customer information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

Customer information will only be used for legitimate business purposes, including quotations, communication, project management, invoicing and aftercare.

21. Complaints

We aim to resolve any concerns quickly and fairly.

If you have a complaint regarding our services, please contact us directly and provide details of the issue. We will investigate the matter and work with you to reach a reasonable resolution.

22. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any applicable consumer rights.

23. Contact Us
